L. C. Anderson High School

Picture
The Audio Video Production and Animation program at Anderson High School is part of the Career and Technology Education sequence.  The four-year program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to explore careers in the film and animation industries.  Courses emphasize cinema/animation history, media analysis, principles of digital photography, and application of filmmaking and animation practices. In the Animation classes, students learn about 2D and 3D animation using light tables and use Adobe Flash to bring their characters to life!

Project-based learning!
Students work in collaborative groups in order to write, shoot, and edit projects using professional editing software on Mac computers.  They learn how to storyboard, write screenplays, edit in Final Cut Pro 7 and After Effects and work with HD cameras.  In addition, students have access to our NEW green screen studio!

Available Software training:  Final Cut Pro 7, GarageBand and Soundtrack Pro, Adobe Photoshop CS5, After Effects CS5, and Adobe Flash CS5.

The program also offers students honor credits, course articulation with ACC, software certifications opportunities, IB Film, field trips to studios and the Austin Film Festival, guest speakers, film and animation competitions, and digital reel/portfolio development for college applications.
